Solid, quiet, good.

The shop really loves this air compressor. The high pressure (175psi) is great, but obviously means you need to regulate it in "normal" tools. Pros: - Relatively quiet - Very good SCFM - Motor is rated for continuous duty (If you plan to run any high-consumption tools, check the duty cycle!) - Comes bolted to a pallet, easy to move with a skid loader/forklift - Comes ready-to-run (except oil) - Wiring into the switch is easy with a #2 Phillips head screwdriver. Ours is hard-wired to the breaker panel, but making it corded would be just as easy. - A lovely shade of beige with black accent pieces. Cons: - Fitting containing the drain valve at the bottom wants to leak. I'd tighten the fitting until the hissing stopped, then an hour later it would be hissing again. Annoying, but eventually got it tight enough. - No anti-vibration pads for under the feet. C'mon, they're like $15 apiece for really nice ones. (You need three, I recommend theMason 4C876 Isolator with a few washers to build height or the taller (but more rigid)Mason 4C961 Isolator ) - No oil included (and it requires specific synthetic oil that is not motor oil). Again, charge me the extra $5 or whatever. - The oil filler hole is also the oil level-check hole. While you're filling it, you can't see how full it is (and it's hard to see in there anyway since it's a quarter-sized hole at a downward angle. Since it takes less than a quart of oil, it seems inevitable that you're going to spill oil all down the front of it. And, yup, I did. - pictured air compressor is *NOT* the 2340L5 (which is what you're buying). It looks like:Ingersoll-Rand 2340L5 Type 30 Two-Stage Air Compressor
