Exploring Music With Soundtouch

SoundTouch gives you wireless access to your favorite music services like Spotify and Deezer, plus Internet radio stations through TuneIn, and your stored music library. They connect to your home Wi-Fi network so you can play music directly from the Internet to the system itself—or hear anything you want from a phone or tablet with Bluetooth technology. You can even play music all throughout your home by expanding with other SoundTouch speakers.

Bose Wireless Audio System Adapter

Transform your speakers. Stream the music you want. Wirelessly

You love your current speakers. But there’s a world of wireless music they just can’t access. Until now. Transform your stereo or home theater system by adding the SoundTouch Wireless Link adapter and stream music from your home Wi-Fi or Bluetooth devices. Use the SoundTouch app to control your music easily.

So, what exactly can connect?

The adapter has three common outputs (optical, AUX and RCA), so anything that supports one of them can become a SoundTouch wireless music system. Most stereo systems, home theater systems and docking speakers are compatible—so chances are, what you have in your living room will work after a quick plug-in and setup. Already own a Bose system? Many of them are compatible, too, including most Lifestyle, CineMate, Wave, SoundDock, SoundLink and Portable PA products. Make your speakers smarter: turn them wireless and stream the music you want. It’s that simple.

Grow your system

The beauty of SoundTouch systems is that they’re made to grow with you. If you start with the SoundTouch Wireless Link for your stereo receiver, you can add more anytime: it could be a SoundTouch 10 speaker for the kitchen, or a SoundTouch 20 speaker for the bedroom. Sync them all together to play the same music in every room, or different music in different rooms. They’re made for the way you live, and the way you listen.

Fast, simple control of all your music

Experience your favorite music from your SoundTouch speaker with the SoundTouch app. SoundTouch lets you take total control of your listening experience, right from your smartphone or tablet. Browse popular music services like Spotify and Deezer, Internet radio stations through TuneIn, or your stored music library. Easily personalize presets for one-touch access to the music you love, and control one or many SoundTouch speakers around your home.

Bluetooth built in

SoundTouch systems feature Bluetooth connectivity to stream music from any compatible device—whenever you want. This allows you to listen to even more sources, like YouTube.

    Product Description

Your current sound system looks and sounds great. But when it comes to accessing internet music, streaming music services are out of reach. Until now. Thanks to the Sound Touch wireless link adapter, you can turn your stereo or home theater into a wireless music system. Which means you'll be able use your phone or tablet to stream music directly through your home Wi-Fi network or Bluetooth devices instantly. Wirelessly access streamed services like Spotify, Pandora and Amazon Music, plus internet radio stations and your stored music library. And since it's also a Bluetooth adapter, streaming music through your phone or tablet is just as easy, letting you listen to even more sources, like podcasts and YouTube. Setup is simple: just plug it into the system and follow the Sound Touch app instructions. You'll be listening in minutes. Add other Sound Touch speakers and they all work together: you can listen to your favorite songs in multiple rooms at once throughout your home. It easily syncs up to play the same music in more than one room, or just specify which room you want to play which music. It's up to you.

Enjoy hands-free voice access to your music on SoundTouch speakers using any Alexa-enabled device—like the Amazon Echo Dot. Just open the Alexa app. Search for “Bose” under the Skills menu. Then follow the simple one-time setup.
    Common commands:

I didn't want to like this as much as I do... but I do so I ended up ordering another one for another home system in another room!I've been completely satisfied with Logitech Bluetooth adapters for my two large home systems for years and didn't think that would ever change. I could pair up, stream, and everything was entertainingly golden. I'd seen these systems in the Bose Outlet stores a few times and despite and valiant sales effort by the store crew they just couldn't convince me why the SoundTouch system was superior in any worthwhile way to simply BlueToothing in to anything. I have two Soundlink Mini IIs that I use for bedside radio and downstairs speakerphone setup, a Soundlink Color for sailing, beach picnics, etc, and I was at the Bose Outlet picking up a large Soundlink III for yard work and porch use when I fell into the SoundTouch trap. I needed the Soundlink III because I given our older Soundlink I to a cousin, a son took the newer Soundlink II, and how many other excuses do I need for a III. Clearly we have plenty of Bose BlueTooth device experience and I'm impressed enough to be a repeat customer. Now for the SoundTouch story... I'm getting the Soundlink III as a refurb and the sales rep tells me I can get another 15% off on another refurb product if I'd like and he said the SoundTouch 10 was available on refurb for $139 ($60 off from $199, plus another 15%). At that price I said 'sold' because I was going to use the Soundlink III in the kitchen for radio in the morning, but with the SoundTouch 10 I could just leave it plugged in and maybe those tricky presets and SoundTouch magic would be worth it... at nearly half price it was worth the shot.Worth it is an understatement. The SoundTouch system with the presents and integration with Amazon Music, Pandora, and plenty of Internet Radio streaming was fantastic. With the little remote I could press #1 and nearly instantly NPR in DC was playing, #2/3 I set to other NPR stations we liked that have great music in the evenings... #4 went to a rock station in Manchester England we've always enjoyed, #5 was a pure internet SOMA FM streaming channel, and finally #6 was FIP out of Paris. This all had to be set up from what I'd previously thought was a needless complicated app when I tried to sort it out in the store but it's actually ridiculously simple, walks you straight through then after it's set you can just press the remote buttons or the buttons on the speaker and you're listening in a jiffy. This is already clearly superior to pairing with BlueTooth because you don't even need a phone or tablet once it's set up. The amazing thing happened next when I installed the app on a tablet (after setting up with the phone), and the tablet picked up the presets, newly named speaker, and the Amazon/Pandora I'd set up. Now the SoundTouch bonus was starting to make sense. You're not limited by BlueTooth range, the devices are actually managing the playback themselves with the app only acting as an administrator.I'm telling you all this about a SoundTouch 10 speaker on this Wireless Link Adapter review because it was the ease of use and Amazon/Pandora/Internet Radio/Computer music library integration in a single app that pushed me from the individual speaker to this Wireless Link and now my large Denon/Boston Acoustics system with 600W Sub is speaking the SoundTouch language and is easily access/use/sync systems etc. Now I can have two large systems (with two adapters of course) synced with the single speaker in the kitchen, all controlled and synced or unsynced from any phone, tablet, and even the Win10 computer with it's app that you see in the pic. I couldn't believe the easy integration and overlapping sync ease between all the controlling devices and speakers. There's even a way to advance or delay individual speakers if they're not syncing well in 10ms increments but I haven't needed to play with that. All and all it's a fascinatingly easy way to take control of your entire home's audio environment playing different or the same things on any or all of your devices all with control from any phone/tablet/computer while controlling the volumes together or independently... all sorts of clever. Having played with it at the house instead of the store I can see the advantages and all the friends who've seen it all in action so far are sold. One app to rule them all so to speak. I though streaming was easy enough, but this is way easier, works independently of devices once set up and started, and being able to sync the entire downstairs has started a dance party routine that we could only pull off by setting everything to the same over the air radio station previously.I could go on and on to make more sense of it all, but I simply wanted to share that this is the best new toy I've had for audio since I picked up an original SoundLink I forever ago. It honestly just works as you'd expect and hope if you'd planned it all out yourself.***Everything we own is Android and Windows and we've had no trouble sharing audio files from the computers or our music services. I saw a review that said Apple wasn't supported and I can't speak to that directly but I can assure you if you have Android and Windows streaming personal MP3s and all your Amazon, Pandora, etc services will work flawlessly with the Bose Sound Connect App.
