Saved my dog's life!!!!

This product just saved my mini-labradoodle's life!!! Our fur-baby is a 2 year old female mini-labradoodle (about 11 lbs.) and she is is the best pup we have ever had! She travels so well with us that we decided to take her with us to a home we rented on the lake last week. Thankfully, we remembered this product because we took a pontoon ride with our family. For some reason, after about an hour in the boat, she jumped overboard. We were travelling pretty fast and we were all watching her, but she went to jump up onto the seat and just kept going. We looked back and thanks to the color we chose (pink), she stood out. She knows how to swim, but she was quite a ways out. When we got to to her, she was extremely scared, but alive. No velcro!!

I purchased this vest after having my dog's long hair enmeshed in the velcro of her puppy vest one time too many. Most of the vests I have looked at seem to have velcro bands at the tummy panel. After vigorously swimming, if your dog has long hair it is almost impossible to get free of the velcro without hurting the dog and/or damaging her fur. I finally found this one - and it is this specific model, not all Outward Hound models - that doesn't have velcro that will come in contact with the dog. My dog is a small labradoodle, now about 25 lbs. She was 22 lbs when I bought this, and at that point I had every strap adjusted as tightly as it would go in order to fit her well. Now I have let them each out a little, but there is no doubt that this vest will take her through the end of her growth. She is a demon in the water and has been using this for a couple of months now, so I know it's durable. She loves swimming and jumping in from the side of the pool. This vest gives her full range of motion. The handle on the back is a great safety feature if you ever have to fish your dog out of the water, and all of the plastic closures seem sturdy and secure. It is a bit of a challenge to adjust the first time, but if you take the time to do that correctly I think you will find that it's a great little vest that will work well for your dog.
