The Worst Bed EVER!!!! BEST AFTER SERVICE EVER!!!!!

August 6, 2018

I had a very bad experience with my King Koil Bed but when I contacted them, they went way out of their way to make me happy. They sent me a brand new bed in no time at all. I didn’t have to go the trouble of sending the old leaky one back either. They were super apologetic and after a year of replacement they called me to see how my bed is. I used it a few times since the trail ride and it was just fine. I used it for guests to sleep on. There were no complaints. I will be doing the same trail ride again at the end of the month. I am pretty sure that I won’t have the same problems as what I had last year. I would recommend King Koil for their super customer service. The beds are very very comfortable and if there is a problem contact them and they will most definitely take care of ur complaints pronto. I am thinking that the customer service is more important than the product. So if ur looking for a very comfy air bed that’s easy to climb in and out of, give them a try. I highly recommend King Koil. They treated me like roayalty. This had to be the worst purchase that I have ever made through Amazon. I am so disappointed. I replaced a queen size airbed to use in my tent when I went on my over night trail rides. My queen size was excellent but it took up too much room so I was delighted when this thing was delivered. I did everything that the instructions told me to do, I filled it, which was super slick. I left it up for a couple of days like they suggested so it could stretch. They said that it would go a bit soft, which it did. I did not lay on it at all, just left it and then deflated it and packed it away for my week long trail ride and camp out. I packed it in my vehicle and was super excited to get it out of the bag and filled it up while in my tent. I used an extension cord and my inverter. It filled beautifully. I put a foam pad and a huge and thick comforter under it because of previous experiences with airbeds in tents. The air in the bed gets extremely cold if you don't put it on top of something to insulate it against the cold ground. I put a queen size fitted sheet on it and then my feather down sleeping bag covering myself with a feather comforter. It was so comfortable, until the morning. It had gone very soft. No problem, the instructions said that this might happen. I accepted it. As the week wore on, this bed got worse and worse. I had to fill it twice, once in the day and then before I went to bed, it was still very very soft in the morning. I wasn't getting any sleep at all and I was extremely stiff from the way that it had me encapsulated. I felt like a sausage in a bun. The very last night and the 6th night of my ride, was just the worst. I hadn't been able to sleep on this horrid thing, it was getting worse and worse. I needed my sleep (riding horses for 8 hours a day). Just before I went to bed, I filled it AGAIN.. it was firm and very comfy. At 3 am, my feet were way up in the air and my head was on the ground. It had lost pretty much all of its air. I was in tears, I gathered up all of my blankets and went to my SUV to see if I could get some sleep. No good, it was totally against the reason I am in a tent. It was so uncomfortable, andI need to see and hear the horses through the night. Back to the tent I went, pushed the totally deflated KING KOIL MATTRESS to the side and slept on top of the foam and comforters. I finally got some sleep. I am so frustrated!!! I want my money back and I never want to see this thing again.. I did my research.. this was supposed to be just awesome.. well, its total junk and I am now going to contact the company.. If I could give it no stars, I would.. I am so tired.. and my vacation/trail ride was ruined

Doesnt have manual air pump port or capabilities

July 14, 2023

In the product description it says “car adapter or battery pack can be used while camping or traveling”. I purchased this product because of this line. The items included line of description says two items: pump, and adapter… but there is no adapter in box, so it never dawned on me that I needed to purchase an adapter. The title of product also lists “camping”(or home use). I didnt comprehend that what it was really saying, is if I wanted to purchase a power inverter battery pack or power inverter car adapter, then I could use it for camping. No where did it say the words power inverter; I had to figure that out myself by calling multiple friends and trying to figure it out. I had purchased a battery powered air pump to bring to fill this mattress without access to power, which now turns out to have been a waste of money.. i was surprised when 36 hours before camping, I inflate it using the built in pump (which worked great) to make sure there were no leaks (none), and look for the port to hook up my manual pump, none. I then proceeded to panic trying to figure out what its description meant and what it was trying to tell me I needed (no wording says “not included” either, or else I wouldve known sooner and purchased it with the mattress, or chosen a different one that I could use for my needs). No where in description, inside the box, etc., does it say how many watts it is to know what type of inverter to order. It was also not in the “frequently purchased together” section of product. I did reach out to tech support, at 9pm, and they got back to me by 8:30am the following day, which was nice, if I wasnt needing it less than 24hrs away by time they responded. Product Description should be better. Telling you power Inverters are needed and what type/size doesnt seem that difficult. I did find somewhere in the customer asked questions someone asking about wattage, and someone responded that tech support told them it was 210watts. But When tech support responded to me, they provided links for products and the car adapter product they suggested only supplied 150 watts of power, but I didnt directly ask the number of watts so I dont know if they supplied a link for a inverter that wasnt strong enough to work, or if the Q&A was wrong. Based off the customer question response I was able to have overnighted a power inverter (once I figured out a power inverter was what I needed), and that device worked. But it was an unexpected $35 (the 150W one is around $20, but not sure if that is correct needed one; another review said she purchased an adapter, plugged it in but pump wouldnt turn on and I suspect it wasn't enough wattage; but if product doesnt list wattage, id rather have extra ‘bandwidth’ than not enough). Seems like another easy thing to add to description… (i’m going to respond to tech support and ask directly how many watts it is so i know for sure; will update once i know). The battery air pump that I purchased was now a waste of money, $15, and past the return window. Also, since I assumed it had a port for manual pumps, I dont like that if the built in pump were to die or fail, there is no back up method of being able to fill it. I wouldve much rather purchased the battery powered inverter than car adapter power inverter, seems more versatile and convenient (imagine needing to put more air in in middle of night; now i have to go turn my car on and hook up the adapter and all that) but the price of the battery ones are around $70 and with no prior warning, I couldnt afford it so close to my trip. Honestly, id prefer to not have to have a $35, or a $70, anything, id prefer a standard manual air pump capability. (I’ll also note, i purchased a sheet set for this mattress to help protect it but also to not have to feel the felt topping/more comfort, and purchased a tarp to go with camping gear to put under tent to help protect it further from popping from below; it comes with two very chincey patches). Since I only filled up this mattress once and immediately deflated it, I dont know how it will do overnight as far as staying inflated, but plenty of reviews will tell you its great in that department. Bed seemed comfortable and not a ton of movement when i got in and out of it so think it will work well. I was expecting a bit thicker bag to come with it, pretty thin, but the mattress does fit back in the bag as it has some extra room, i just wonder how long the bag will last. But was such a hassle trying to figure out this product and what I needed, I cant give this product a 5-star, even if it is a good mattress and pump if i had power capabilities. I will update this review if I have trouble with deflating in night or any other issues once used. It does say to let it sit for 8-12hrs once filled to allow seams to expand and settle (may need to add more air once settled and fully expanded), but with camp check in at 4pm, i wont have that amount of time. I will be sleeping on it for 3 nights with temps going from 80 to 38 each day so will see how well it adapts to temp fluctuations.
